Michael Sleggs’ heartbroken fans pay tribute to tragic This Country star

Heartbroken This Country fans have paid tribute to tragic actor Michael Sleggs following his death last night.

Michael, who played Michael ‘Slugs’ Slugette in the BBC Three comedy, is believed to have been undergoing palliative care for heart failure.

He confirmed he was facing his final days last month, and fans of the show have now flocked to Twitter to express their sadness over his loss.

One of his actor pals, Camilla-Alicia Bates, offered a heartbreaking tribute to her friend.

She wrote: "Last night just before midnight I lost my dear friend, my love Michael_Sleggs my absolute rock who has always been there for me.

"So grateful I got to spend his final resting with him and so glad he is out of pain and at peace. I love you forever. loveyou rip sluggs."

One of his fans added: "I didn't know Michael Sleggs but he brought such joy to our family through This Country as the wonderfully brilliant Slugs.

"The news of his passing is so very sad. My thoughts are with his family and friends."

One more added: "Such sad news. So young."
