The Peaky Blinders star lives in Dublin with his wife and children Malachy and Aran, having left London in 2015.
In an interview with The Observer, released today, Cillian made an admission about his life with Yvonne.
He said: “We cook, we watch movies, we listen to music.
“I was vegetarian for a long time then I relapsed and now I’ve relapsed back to vegetarianism.
“My wife is, too. It’s so unremarkable!
“It’s not a good copy.”
Cillian was vegetarian for around 15 years, telling The Independent in 2017 that it was because he was “worried about getting mad cow disease”.
He also had qualms about unhealthy agribusiness practices.
Cillian did however begin eating meat again in order to bulk up for his role in Peaky Blinders.
The actor also revealed how he gets in character for the show.
He said: “I love getting up and being someone else.
“What I find hard is getting up and being hilarious or entertaining as myself.
“That was never in the job description and I’m not very good at it. But it’s an unwritten part of the gig.
“You do the work and then you have to go out and perform as yourself.
“I find it terrifying, because I’m not a personality, you know?”
For his role in the BBC Crime drama he has won the Irish Film and Television Award for Best Actor in 2017 and 2018.
He started his performing career as the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter of the rock band The Sons of Mr. Green Genes.
Cillian turned down a record deal in the late 1990s and began acting on stage and in short and independent films.
His most notable performances include The Dark Knight, Inception, Dunkirk, Red Eye and A Quiet Place Part II.
For his role in Breakfast on Pluto, released in 2005, he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy.
