Like so many other celebrities, Pierce Brosnan and his family are vacationing in Europe this summer. On June 2, he and his 22-year-old son Paris Brosnan shared two photos from their trip to Italy on Instagram, and the father-son duo look like twins.
In the first snap, Pierce grins at the camera as his son looks off to the side. Then, in the second snap, he places his hand on Paris’s chest as they both smile at one another with the Ponte Vecchio bridge in the background. “Papa and Paris, Florence, Ponte Vecchio,” the pair captioned their joint post.
Paris is Pierce’s youngest son. He and his wife Keely Shaye Smith also share 26-year-old Dylan. In May, the proud dad celebrated Paris’s graduation from college with a sweet message on Instagram. “Dearest Paris, Heartfelt congratulations on your graduation from Loyola Marymount University School of Film & Television,” he captioned a pic of him, his son, and Smith. “Go into the world with a brave heart and create stories that will make the world a better place.”
The “Mamma Mia!” actor also has three children from his marriage to his first wife Cassandra Harris, who died of ovarian cancer in 1991. He and Harris had Sean Brosnan, and Pierce adopted his first wife’s two children, Charlotte and Chris, after their father’s death in 1986. In a 2021 interview with Gentleman’s Journal he shared how much he loves being a dad, especially in light of his own childhood.
“I cherish family very much. I cherish being a father,” he said. “I did not grow up with a father figure or with a solid family. There was deep fracture, a certain isolation and an aloneness which wielded the wonderful power of my imagination. I had to get by on my own sensing and intuition.”
He continued, “So I value and love the family. Keely is the most amazing mother and woman — I’ve watched her grow up over 27 years, watched our life together just blossom and grow. And there are still many more dreams to be had.”
