Piers Morgan melted hearts on Good Morning Britain when he called his daughter live on air to wish her luck on her first day back at school.
The 55 year old, who recently defended Adele after she was accused of "cultural appropriation", took a moment to phone his youngest child, eight year old Elise, during an advert break but got caught talking to her as the ITV programme returned.
As the camera pointed towards the presenter, Piers explained to viewers: "Just speaking to my daughter live on air wishing her good luck on her first day back at school, and all her friends."

Clearly enamoured by the touching gesture, his co-host Susanna Reid shouted: "Good luck Elise!"
Earlier on during the show Piers laid it into Ranvir Singh, who has just been confirmed as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, that she has to go on the show with the mentality to win.
Susanna, 49, who came in second place on the BBC show back in 2013, disagreed with his opinion and advised Ranvir, 43, to enjoy the experience.

While Piers, who recently revealed he was offered a record deal after stripping off and singing in a bar, was speaking to his daughter on the phone, he informed his co-presenter Susanna that Elise had a message for her.
"Susanna, she's got a message for you. It's fine to have fun on things like Strictly but actually you have to win. Quite rightly."
Clearly unimpressed by the message, Susanna leaned her face into her hand as she said sarcastically: "Well I wonder who taught you that Elise…"

To which Piers responded: "She's been taught well. So have fun but win." Turning his attention back to his daughter, he said: "Right, Elise I've got to go. We're live on air."
Taking some of the blame off Elise's competitive nature, he then added: "She's got three older brothers, it's all about winning when you're in a family like that."
Piers and Susanna enjoyed a two month break from Good Morning Britain, starting from the beginning of July.

While Susanna spent her time off reportedly rekindling her relationship with Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish, Piers went on a leisurely holiday to Saint Tropez on the French riviera.
However, Piers was forced to cut his time there short after new government guidelines stated that any people arriving in the UK from France after 4am on Saturday, 8 August, would have to quarantine for two weeks in a bid to battle the spread of coronavirus.
