Rihanna Jokes She’s ‘Hiding’ From Fans Eager For Release Of New Album

R&B superstar Rihanna joked about her fans roasting her for not having put out a new album in nearly 4 years.

The singer’s mother, Monica Fenty uploaded a picture of 4 Christmas bears each bearing the names of the Fenty family members – Monica, Rajad, Rorrey and Robyn (RiRi’s original name) to Instagram.

The face of the Robyn bear, however, was obscured by its droopy hat and one fan took advantage of the situation by writing “Robyn hiding behind a hat!,” to which Rihanna responded with “from the navy.” (The Navy is the popular name of the singer’s fanbase.)

The singer-cum-fashion icon is yet to drop her much-awaited 9th studio album, even though she stated in 2018 that it would be out this year.

“Update: me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it,” she previously wrote alongside a hilarious video of a white puppy adorably head-banging to House of Pain‘s classic “Jump Around.”

She has also revealed that the new record will be heavily influenced by Reggae.

“It’s not gonna be typical of what you know as reggae but you’re going to feel the elements in all of the tracks,” she told Vogue in October of this year.
