Ruth Langsford, 61, was left red-faced today after she accidentally got Ben Stiller’s name confused with British actor Ben Miller, 55. The presenter made the error during This Morning, which she is currently guest hosting alongside husband Eamonn Holmes, 61.
The pair were set to interview Miller about his upcoming ITV crime drama series Professor T, which will be arriving on screens on Sunday.
However, Ruth sparked confusion when she mistakenly announced that Hollywood star Ben Stiller was in the ITV studios to discuss the show.
The host told viewers: “We’re going to the weather now but don’t forget, Ben Stiller is here today talking about his new dramatic role in a new series for ITV.”
Before the advert break began, Ruth added to fans: “See you after this.”
The camera then cut away to show an awkward shot of Ben Miller on the sofa following Ruth’s mix-up.
Fortunately, Ruth took the blunder well, as she poked fun at herself over the mistake while addressing the error with their guest.
Eamonn said: “Ben Miller, thank you.”
Ruth then chimed: “Or Ben Stiller as I called you earlier.”
Ben quickly cleared up any potential tension over Ruth’s slip-up, as he laughed and admitted, “I’ll take that”.
Fans also noticed Ruth’s error and took to Twitter to discuss the funny moment.
One person wrote: “Ben Stiller and Ben Miller look very different how did Ruth mix that one up #ThisMorning.”
Another added: “Ben Stiller? #ThisMorning.”

A third viewer penned: “@thismorning Is it my imagination or did Ruth just say Ben Stiller is on the show?”
“‘Or Ben Stiller as I called you’ I can see the resemblance,” a fourth fan joked.
Eamonn and Ruth returned to This Morning earlier this as they began hosting the show for the summer.
They announced they’ll be presenting for seven weeks during the holidays.
They’ll be stepping in for the other presenting duos, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield and Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, who are enjoying breaks.
Posting about the good news, Eamonn shared a video of him and Ruth singing “We’re coming home” to the tune of the famous England football anthem.
He penned alongside this: “We’re coming home!
