Fleur East has been praised for her hosting debut on Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two.
The former Strictly contestant took over hosting duties on the BBC show this evening (September, 25) from former host Rylan Clark and by all accounts it was a resounding success.
Viewers took to social media to share their delight with the show change, many referring to the former X Factor star as “a breath of fresh air”.
“@FleurEast you are an absolute natural as host of #ItTakesTwo… a breath of fresh air,” one fan wrote. “You’re so warm, kind, calm, knowledgeable and encouraging.”
Another said: “@FleurEast obviously learned a lot about dance on her time on the show, her questions are informed and focussed #ittakestwo …natural interviewer as well… #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing Fleur for her.”

In reference to both Fleur and her professional dancer co-host Janette Manrara, a third wrote: So refreshing to see two women presenting #ItTakesTwo for the first time. Fleur and Janette have a great dynamic already.”
While a fourth commented: “Absolutely lovely job tonight, Fleur. Our beloved ITT is in safe hands.”
The co-hosts will be engaging in a string of interviews with this year’s couples and the judges as well as giving the audience backstage gossip.
Rylan had announced that he was leaving the show back in April. He wrote in a social media post at the time “After four fantastic years it’s time for me to hang up my glittery jacket and say goodbye to It Takes Two.
“I’ve had the best time hosting the show alongside Janette and Zoe and I can’t thank the amazing team enough for always putting on a great show. I’ve been welcomed into the Strictly family and will firmly hold that title dear to me.”

Fleur recently said she was “grateful” to have landed the gig. The star, who reached the final when she competed in last year’s series with Vito Coppola, told the BBC, “It’s an incredible honour, honestly, because I had such an amazing experience on the show.
“Now it’s like a continuation of my Strictly journey which was such an important experience for me, so I’m really grateful I get to carry this on.” The 35-year-old also revealed that she would be approaching her new role “with a different lens” to her predecessors because her Strictly experience is still “super fresh”.
“I’ll know exactly what the [contestants] are going through,” she explained. “I’ll know week on week, how their bodies will be feeling, depending on what dance they’re doing, because it’s ingrained in my brain, every muscle that was affected based on that dance I was doing each week.”
“I have to say I’m grateful that I won’t be anxious every week about performing live and I can just enjoy the experience,” she added.
Strictly It Takes Two airs every weekday at 6pm from Monday until the end of the competition.
