‘I can’t talk about it without crying’: Strictly’s Emma Weymouth discusses the traumatic birth of her first son and her decision to use a surrogate after being told she couldn’t have any more children
She recently wowed audiences as she took to the dance floor for her first live performance alongside professional partner Aljaž Škorjanec.
And following her Strictly Come Dancing debut, Viscountess Emma Weymouth opened up about her struggles with pregnancy as she revealed the heartbreaking diagnosis that meant she couldn’t have anymore children naturally.
In a pared-back photoshoot and interview with Grazia magazine, Emma, who’s second child was born via surrogate, discusses her fertility issues as she tearfully admitted that ‘I can’t talk about it without crying.’
So tough: Following her Strictly Come Dancing debut, Viscountess Emma Weymouth opened up about her struggles with pregnancy as she revealed the heartbreaking diagnosis that meant she couldn’t have anymore children naturally.
Emma, is married to Ceawlin, Viscount Weymouth, with whom she shares two sons John, four and Henry, two.
But while the boys are her world, the journey to motherhood wasn’t the easiest for Emma, with the star facing heartbreaking health problems along the way.
While pregnant with her eldest son John, she was diagnosed with hypophysitis, which causes swelling in the pituitary gland.
The illness meant she was forced to have an emergency C-section and devastatingly, she was later told she couldn’t have any more children naturally.

The socialite told Grazia that the ordeal was ‘extremely traumatic’, so much so that she admitted: ‘I can’t talk about it without crying.’
After the couple used a surrogate to welcome son Henry, Emma explained: ‘We were lucky to be able to do that. There are so many different ways to make your family. I’m just super-grateful to have my children.’
Emma, who looked sensational in a tailored white shirt and wide-legged navy trousers, added that now she’s immersed in all things, she has to juggle her training with mummy duties.

Discussing her first school run earlier this month, she explained: ‘When I dropped John off for his first day, I went straight from there to Elstree (where it’s filmed), which is bonkers. One minute I’m inside this magical glitter bubble, then it’s straight back to mum-life. Literally. That is my life!’
As she discusses her life as a wife and mother, it’s hard to remember Emma has a plethora of showbiz pals including supermodel Kate Moss, who apparently is a whizz in the kitchen.
In a recently video for Vogue, the catwalk star, 45, cooked for her pals including Emma, who states that cake was a ‘great hostess’.
When asked if Kate has cooked for her in real life, she replied: ‘She has. We made roast beef together, with mac ’n’ cheese, for a cosy Sunday night in the country.’

Meanwhile, Emma is now doubt gearing up for the second week of Strictly Come Dancing after week one saw her and Aljaž score a respectable 19 out of 40 with their Cha Cha Cha.
The bubbly beauty spilled the beans on the cloak and dagger operation to join the show in the first place, revealing that she had to hkeep the ‘exciting’ news ‘top-secret’.
‘I had a dance trial, which was so top-secret I couldn’t even tell my mum,’ she explained.
‘Even after I got the job, I had a code name for my first costume fitting – Catwoman – and I wasn’t allowed to refer to the show by its name, or tell anyone what I was doing or where I was going. It was so exciting!’
