Strictly Come Dancing 2020 presenter Tess Daly, 51, has teased fans about what they can expect from this year’s dancing duos ahead of the first live show this weekend. The host said she had gone “through every emotion” today while watching the contestants’ performances and promised her followers it will be a good show.
Appearing make-up free on her Instagram story, Tess said in a video: “I just had to share this with you as I am genuinely so excited.
“I have just seen the celebrities and their pro partners training, I’ve seen footage of them for Saturday’s first live show and the routines look amazing.
“They are honestly so good,” she added, excitedly.
“I laughed and I cried watching them, I went through every emotion because it was so moving and brilliant.”
“You’re gonna love it, I promise,” she enthused, in view of her 521,000 followers.
Tess captioned her posts: “Now I’ve seen them dance, Saturday can’t come soon enough.
“Cannot wait for you to watch. Amazing dancing!
“It felt like a dose of pure joy. PS please excuse the state of me, I don’t get out much,” she concluded.
Tess and Claudia will return as hosts for the new series of the show this Saturday.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the pair will be seen standing further apart than usual, due to social distancing measures in place.
In other changes to the show, the judges will be giving their verdict on the couples from their separate pods.
The contestants and pro partners have also formed their own bubble, in line with safety rules.
The celebrities competing for the Glitterball trophy this series include; comedian Bill Bailey, DJ Clara Amfo, The Wanted’s Max George and Good Morning Britain star Ranvir Singh.
The contestants will have nine weeks to impress the judges and viewers, instead of a usual 13.
Tess has been fronting the show since its inception in 2004.
For the first nine series, she presented alongside the late Bruce Forsyth, who left in 2013.
In 2014, Claudia joined the main show as her co-host.
The latter previously said the pair have a pact to leave together if one of them ever decides to step down.
She told The Mirror: “Tess and I will leave at the same time.
“We’ve made that pact over pizza. We’ll go together, whenever they’re done with us.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday at 7.25pm on BBC One.
