Tess Daly: ‘Never grow up’ Strictly host on ‘explosive’ romance with husband Vernon Kay

The BBC favourite explained that with any long-term romance the relationship can change over the years but stated the pair attempt to “keep the fire burning”.
The small-screen star revealed she shared an instant connection with her now husband after their first meeting but added he has “matured” over the years.
Speaking to The Sun’s Fabulous magazine in 2013, Tess gushed about the moment the couple first met and said it was an “explosive” romance.
“It was all quite immediate, really, because we instantly had such a blast together,” she said. “I couldn’t imagine having more fun with anyone else. It was pretty explosive, I tell you.”

Tess first met Vernon back in 2000, when he was working on T4 which was his first television presenting gig.
She later married him in an intimate ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Horwich back in 2003.
Speaking about keeping their relationship alive, she continued: “You keep the fire burning, you keep stoking that fire.”
The Strictly host added that her husband has grown up in recent years but is still the same person she met all those years ago.
She explained: “I guess he is the same, but more mature. You know what men are like, they never really grow up, do they? Do they ever catch us up mentally? I don’t think so.”
Meanwhile, her husband has recently dismissed claims about the pair’s marital status after a fan asked if they lived “separate lives” after not being pictured together for months.
Taking to Instagram last week, Vernon shared a snap of his daughters at the beach, where the presenter was quizzed by one of his 112,000 followers.
The person in question asked: “Feels like you and @tessdaly are living separate lives. I hope not. Love you guys.”

The TV star was quick to fire back, as he insisted his private family pictures were not for public consumption.
He wrote: “Pictures of our family life are all labelled nicely on an iPad or in Apple photo books for us to share, as a family.
“No need to invite the world into our home life, some do, but it’s not for us. We are 100 [per cent]. Thanks for asking.”
Vernon rarely shares snaps of his wife and children on social media, while the Strictly host hasn’t shared a snap of her husband since the summer.

Speaking about the ups and downs of their marriage, Tess admitted the pair are a “work in progress.”
In an interview with The Times in 2017, she said: “All marriages have their moments. Marriage is a work in progress. Vernon and I are just people, at the end of the day.”
Meanwhile, Tess will be reunited with her co-presenter and pal Claudia Winkleman tonight on the ballroom dance floor for the semi-finals of Strictly.
