Thomas Rhett Jumps To Top Of Billboard Artist 100
Thomas Rhett‘s fourth LP, Center Point Road, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, lifting the singer 33-1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart dated June 15.
The album’s lead single, “Look What God Gave Her,” which hit a new high at No. 3 on Hot Country Songs and rose to No. 32 on the Billboard Hot 100, also played a key role in lifting Rhett to No. 1 on the Artist 100 list and making him the top musical act in the U.S. for a second total week.
According to Nielsen Music, Center Point Road logged 76,000 equivalent album units in the latest tracking week.
Rhett is the first country artist to make it to top spot on the Artist 100 in 2019. Last year, Carrie Underwood and Jason Alden were the only country acts to hit the top spot on the chart.
Rhett’s earlier stint atop the Artist 100 chart was in late September 2017, when his third LP Life Changes debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Since the launch of the Artist 100 in 2014, only two other country acts, Aldean and Florida Georgia Line, have spent multiple weeks at No. 1. While Aldean spent three weeks as No. 1, FGL spent two weeks at the top.
