Tom Parker’s wife Kelsey has opened up about the heartache of being pregnant while finding out about his inoperable brain tumour.

Speaking for the first time about The Wanted singer’s diagnosis, Kelsey, who is 36 weeks pregnant, told OK!: “People have said this illness couldn’t have come at a worse time, but there’s not exactly a good time.”

The 30-year-old continued: “To be honest, I think I’ve forgotten I’m pregnant. It’s all about Tom at the moment. In four weeks’ time it obviously won’t be, but the whole thing has consumed us.

"You don’t know how to feel or what to say, because we’ve never been through anything like this as a couple.”

The pair tied the knot in 2018 in a ceremony exclusively covered by OK! and they are now parents to their adorable daughter Aurelia, 15 months. Their baby boy is due in early November and Kelsey is hoping to have a home birth just like she did with Aurelia.

She said: “I think it’s been good for Tom to have our baby boy to focus on.”

Kelsey and Tom are still coming to terms with Tom’s diagnosis, and Kelsey says she finds it hard to believe she is having conversations about chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

“If someone had told me my life was going to be taking Tom to radiotherapy in London every day and I’d be 36 weeks pregnant at the time, I wouldn’t have believed them,” she adds.

Kelsey, who is the founder of performing arts school K2K Stars, went on to praise the couple’s friends and family for their unwavering support during this difficult time.

“They’ve been unreal. Everyone has just come and taken the stress out of everything, and being 36 weeks pregnant I do need help. My friend Kelsey screenshots loads of positive things and sends them over to us,” she said. “Our friends have been amazing,” adds Tom, 32.

It’s clear Kelsey has remained a tower of strength for her husband, but there have of course been emotional moments.

She said, “I’ve just focused on the practical side of things, so he has no needs and I just do everything for him so he doesn’t have to think about it. If I just sat here and cried, I’d be no help. I had to go: ‘Right, how are we dealing with this?’ You have to hold it together.”

Kelsey continued: “I’m human and this has been the worst possible news. I cry, but I don’t do it in front of Tom, I need to be strong for him and positivity is the best medicine right now. Aurelia has been a brilliant distraction in that sense.”
