Tom Petty’s Stolen Memorabilia and Unreleased Music Returned to Family
A man has reportedly been arrested after confessing to breaking into the ‘I Won’t Back Down’ hitmaker’s San Fernando Valley storage unit to take an estimated $100,000 worth of valuables.
AceShowbiz -A stash of Tom Petty‘s personal items have reportedly been returned to his family after thieves targeted the late rocker’s storage unit.
Law enforcement authorities told TMZ a man broke into the “Free Fallin'” hitmaker’s San Fernando Valley storage unit last month (September) and took an estimated $100,000 (£81,700) worth of valuables.
A number of hard drives loaded with Tom’s music – including unreleased tracks – were stolen, along with other items including guitars, musical instruments, and some of the star’s guns.
A man has reportedly been arrested after confessing to the theft, with sources telling the outlet authorities recovered the hard drives and the guns. The instruments remain missing.
The “American Girl” hitmaker died in 2017, aged 66.
