Tory Lanez Is the Quarantine King of Instagram Live With Guest Appearances From Bryson Tiller, Tinashe and More
Celebrities are becoming very creative amid the coronavirus pandemic. With all this free time on everyone’s hands, several are taking to social media to interact with fans more. Tory Lanez had an epic livestream on Instagram live and other entertainers stopped by.
Who is Tory Lanez and what is he known most for
The 27-year-old Canadian rapper’s real name is Daystar Peterson. He released his first mixtape in 2009 and went on to be signed to Sean Kingston’s label. He began to release several mixtapes, including Chixtape. Lanez went on to leave the label and become an independent artist. He continued to gain more popularity in the early 2010s, going on his first tour ghostwriting songs for artists like Travis Scott and T.I.
He continued to put out more music before releasing, “Say It,” the first single from his debut album in 2015. The song samples “If You Love Me” by Brownstone. It was a huge success, reaching No. 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Lanez became known for sampling classic R&B songs and flipping them for his music. The album, I Told You, was released in 2016, including “Luv,” which is Lanez’s highest-charting single on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 19.
Two albums from Lanez, Memories Don’t Die and Love Me Now, were released in 2018. They reached No. 1 and No. 4 on the Billboard top 200 albums chart, respectively. His most recent album, Chixtape 5, samples many 2000s R&B songs. It reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and includes the hit single, “Jerry Sprunger” featuring T-Pain.

With many cities under mandates to practice social distancing and stay in the house except for essential needs, many celebrities are using this time to engage their fans in different ways on social media.
Many entertainers are taking to Instagram’s live option to chat with other celebrities as well as fans.
Lanez took to Instagram to go live and the livestream had a lot of famous guests. Bryson Tiller dropped by to do a cover of a Panic! at the Disco song. Tinashe was also on there and sung some as well. Chris Brown and Justin Bieber were also featured.
