Vernon Kay urges Tess Daly to ‘hurry home’ after wowing on Strictly in ‘half missing’ gown

Vernon Kay, 46, took to social media as he gushed over his wife of 17 years, Tess Daly, 51, as she looked radiant in a cut out black number that sent Strictly Come Dancing viewers into meltdown. The former Family Fortunes host posted that he was feeling good after returning home from the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! camp and looking forward to spending time with his family.

He shared a screenshot from tonight’s Strictly as Tess spoke to the camera while judge Craig Revel Horwood sat behind her.

Vernon typed: “Hurry home @tessdaly !! @bbcstrictly what a show, @craigrevel you’re welcome too!

“So good to be dust and smoke free! No Rice and Beans!!!!”

Immediately his spouse replied: “See you soon @vernonkay, put the kettle on.”

It comes as social media erupted with comments over Tess’s “half missing dress” on the dance contest tonight.

One wrote: “I love Claudia & Tess. Fabulous women but what the heck are they wearing tonight? #Strictly.” 

“It looks like Tess and Claudia are wearing the two halves of the same outfit. #strictly,” another wrote.

A third said: “What is this collar, Tess? Why isn’t the dress just strapless? #Strictly.”

“#Strictly everyone loves the opening number but hates Tess’ outfit!” A tweet read. 

Another commented: “Tess almost wore a nice dress this week apart from the weird necktie bit #strictly.” 

Despite some divisive comments, it appeared that Vernon was a fan of the number.
