Zendaya is GQ Australia’s ‘Woman of the Year’ at age 23: ‘She’s only just getting started’
Star of “Euphoria” and “Spiderman,” fashion designer, role model, activist – the list of Zendaya’s accolades in 2019 goes on.
The 23-year-old’s achievements are nothing short of award worthy, according to GQ Australia, which named her its 2019 “Woman of the Year.”
“It would be hard to pick a highlight, when this next winner’s entire year has been full of them,” Edwina McCann said while presenting the award, noting that since Zendaya began her career as a teenager she has evolved into one of the voices of her generation.
Zendaya took the stage to thank GQ for the award, saying it was an “absolute honor.”
“Woman of the Year, that’s kind of crazy considering that I’m just 23 years old and trying to figure out how to become a woman myself,” she said.
But her age, McCann had commented,is actually a great thing.
“And the best thing of all is she’s only 23 and she’s only just getting started,” McCann said.
