I’m a style pro – three outdated fashion rules you need to ignore… and why mixing gold and silver jewellery is on trend | The Sun

A FASHION pro has shared how there are three style rules that are now completely out of date – and it’s great news if you like mixing gold and silver jewellery.

The boutique owner has seen all the upcoming trends of Autumn 2023, and decided to lift the lid on three of the main things she’d spotted.

Momma Moda, who runs the Ella Rosee Boutique, explained: “These three fashion rules are out, and here’s how to wear them instead.

“These outdated fashion rules were meant to be broken this fall 2023/ winter 2024 is about embracing these trends in a new way.”

She then started with the fact that while it was previously a style sin to mix gold and silver jewellery, it’s now totally in.

@mommamoda continued: “First up is the non-mixing of metals where you’re just wearing all silver, or all gold.”

Momma Moda said it was now the time to switch this up and follow the lead of celebrity style icons like Taylor Swift.

She continued: “Instead, for 2023 and 2024, it’s fine if you wear gold and silver together.”

The fashion fan then showed a number of examples, from different coloured stacking rings to mixed metal small hoop earrings.

And she had an additional tip for those stuck in a rut. She said: “If it really bothers you but you want to try it, try one piece of jewellery that has both silver and gold.”

She then moved onto the second outdated style rule – the idea that blazers were only suitable for the office.

Momma Moda told her 26k TikTok followers: “Next up is that a blazer is only for the workplace.

“As you probably already know, for this fall 2023, blazers are being worn very casually with sneakers and a baseball cap.

“Or you can pair it with a pair of jeans and a crop top.”

The shop owner also said that the look could easily be taken from day to night by wearing it with a more casual outfit but dressing it up.

Momma Moda then shared her final tip. She said: “The last rule that we can forget about is just wearing sweatpants when you’re inside your house.

“I don’t know about you guys, but I am wearing sweatpants if I’m running errands, bringing my kids somewhere – I want to be comfortable.”

The style pro then shared the different ways you can make the outfit work for you.
