Kate Middleton looked incredibly chic today as she stepped out in a polka dot midi dress, fascinator and heels – bearing a striking resemblance to an outfit worn by Princess Diana in the late 1980s.
The Princess of Wales went for a more formal outfit for the annual service of The Most Noble Order of the Garter, at St George’s Chapel, in Windsor.
She opted for a elegant black and white spotty midi dress from designer Alessandra Rich, along with a Philip Treacy fascinator and sophisticated heels.
But her ensemble today is a dead ringer for a polka dot dress worn by Princess Diana in 1988 to Royal Ascot, by designer Victor Edelstein.
What’s more, Kate’s choice of white court shoes with the black toe detail alongside pearl jewellery was exactly how Diana styled her dress back in 1988.
The dress even comes with a lookalike ruched waistband.
And it’s a style formula from Kate that we’ve seen before.
In fact, polka dot midi dresses are a popular choice with the Princess of Wales for more formal events. Last year, she wore a different Alessandra Rich polka dot dress for her appearance on day four of Royal Ascot.
It was another smart look today for the mum-of-three, following on from her green ensemble at the Trooping of the Colour last weekend.
