Kate Middleton’s new ‘pick-me-up’ blonder hair has been achieved using a ‘free-hand painting’ technique, hairdresser claims – The Sun

KATE Middleton looks radiant today as she is competing in a star-studded eight-boat sailing regatta on the Isle of Wight.

The stunning Duchess of Cambridge, 37, showed off her trademark glossy locks at the King’s Cup race and appears to have gone blonder for summer.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has been cheered on by Prince George, six, and Princess Charlotte, four, and sporty Kate’s stylish do was characteristically flawless – despite the sea winds.

Speaking to Fabulous Digital, Carly Price, Partner Stylist at Muse of London, said: “I definitely think Kate has updated her gorgeous glossy brunette locks for summer 2019.

“It looks as though Kate has had her hair freehand painted, where her stylist has added lighter sections around her head paying particular attention to the front to frame her face and allow her features to really pop.

"This technique almost gives her hair a ‘pick me up’ and a gorgeous glow, as though the hair has been sun kissed.

“In terms of colour, it looks as though Kate’s stylist has used a variety of caramel and dark blonde hues in her hair, giving the hair a natural look that’s super low maintenance.”

Kate's hairdresser Richard Ward added to Fabulous: "The Duchess is blessed with naturally thick, beautiful hair and her colour is always just right for her skin tone.

"Hair colour naturally lifts when exposed to sunlight during the warmer months, and the summer season is the perfect excuse to go a little lighter; for a sun-kissed hue like the Duchess is sporting at the moment, ask your colourist for lighter ribbons of colour around the hairline to illuminate your face and scattered highlights for a natural, glowing look."

This summer, the duchess has so far enjoyed a a five-star luxury holiday to Mustique with her family, where they rented out a £27,000-a-week villa.

Kate is not only competing against Prince William, 37, today at the charity event, but also a host of famous faces, including Bear Grylls, Olympic rower Helen Glover and comedian John Bishop.

Each boat in the regatta represents one of the royals’ eight charities, which include Child Bereavement UK, Centrepoint, London’s Air Ambulance Charity 30th Anniversary Campaign, and Tusk.

The royal couple often goes head to head in sport, and they both competed in the dragon boat race in Canada in 2011 where William was victor.

Kate got her own back three years later in Auckland where she won a sailing event during their tour of New Zealand.
