Mrs Hinch fans are sharing the best way to clean toilet brushes – & it costs just 38p

TOILET brushes are great for cleaning, but many people often forget that it’s essential to also clean them as well. 

If you don’t clean your toilet brush, the bacteria build up on the brush will spread all over the toilet and brush holder making it pointless to clean your toilet. 

Mrs Hinch fans have discovered an easy and cheap trick for cleaning them, and have revealed it for others to take note. 

One cleaning fan claimed the 38p hack ensures “no smelly germs are left behind.” 

Posting on Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page, one woman asked for help on how to clean her toilet brush.

She continued: “I end up throwing it away every few months.”

And it wasn’t long before her post was inundated with comments and advice from other cleaning fans.

Many said that “bleach” was the way forward. 

One wrote: “I use bleach. Put it around the pan overnight and let the brush sit in it. It's so quick and easy."

While another added: “I pour bleach into the toilet and then I get the toilet brush and brush the toilet with the bleach water. It cleans the toilet and brush so easily.”

Another enthusiast stressed that it is so important to clean your toilet brush, by writing: “You should always use bleach for the job. You can put bleach in the toilet and leave the brush there to soak.”

Another agreed by adding: “Yes, I bleach the toilet then let the brush sit in the bleach for a while too.”

Another woman said that she uses a mop bucket. 

She adds: “I use a mop bucket, fill it with bleach and put the whole thing in the container too, not just the brush. This makes sure no smelly germs are left behind.”
