My husband says he only loves me as a friend, but I could save the marriage by losing two stone

AFTER being married for only seven months, one woman's husband admitted he wanted to callit quits with her because he is no longer found her attractive.

Although they have been together for almost six years, the couple's marriage had not yet passed the one year mark when the husband came out with something shocking.

The Mumsnet user revealed one morning, out of the blue, her husband blurted out "I think I just love you as a friend", adding that the only way the marriage could be saved is if she lost two stone.

Completely shocked by this the new wife thought maybe her husband was cheating on her, but claims he denies this.

Luckily, a friend who works with the shocked wife's husband was able to confirm that probably isn't cheating, because he is always in work on time, and never stays late.

Most of his friends live too far away, so when he is not at work he stays at home, she says.

The Mumsnet user says she's has always been on the chunkier side, and has always enjoyed a frequent sex life with her partner, so is confused where this has come from.

"I feel like it’s going to be difficult to come back from this." She said "It’s a lot of pressure for me to quickly lose weight to see if he can fancy me properly or not."

Feeling humiliated, the user begged for advice online. "Do you think I should make a big effort to lose weight over the next few months and see what happens with him, or would you want to end the relationship over it?"

Fellow users told her to get out now: "Leave him. Love isn't love if it's dependent on you losing two stone!"

Others didn't believe that there was not any cheating going on "I would be very surprised if there isn't another woman. It's probably someone he works with."

One person added he "could he be having an affair with your friend."

That would be unlikely, the disgruntled wife said, since "she is also a size 24." Plus, "she’s married with kids anyway. He only works with men other than her."

Another said she should not try and meet his expectations, "I couldn't respect him after this. And I'd hate myself for trying to lose 2 stone in the hope that he'd be kind enough to fancy me once more."
