Boy, 12, who died after watersports accident in river in Scotland is named
Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a tragic schoolboy who died after getting into difficulty in the River Tay.
Kayden Walker, 12, was rushed to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow after playing watersports on a stretch of the Tay near the village of Stanley in Perthshire on Sunday.
Sadly he passed away on Tuesday morning despite doctor's efforts to save him.
Older brother Kai Thomson penned a heartbreaking tribute to the youngster who he "loved with all his heart", reports the Daily Record.
He wrote: "There’s no words I could say to make this any easier.
"Woke up this morning, done the usual scroll through Facebook and then 5 minutes later I remember the absolute nightmare of the last two nights and it all begins to sink in all over again.
"You really don’t know what’s around the corner and in my mind I still don’t fully believe it all.
"I make this promise to you now Kayden, Jude will always grow up knowing just how much of an amazing big brother he had from both what he remembers and what we will all tell him.
"Your up there with granda now so look after each other. I love you wee man with all my heart. Until we meet again.
"You really where simply the best."
He shared pictures of Kayden with their younger brother Jude alongside the heartbreaking tribute.
It comes after dozens of family friends took to social media to pay tribute to the youngster.
Kiera Haughian wrote: “Rip kayden absolutely devastating news always had a smile on your face whenever I seen you fly high wee man.”
Natalie Wilson said: “Rip kayden thinking of charlene and the family at this devastating time."
Debbie Mullen wrote: “RIP kayden thoughts and prayers go out to your mum brothers and family so so sad.”
