Cheryl Burke thinks it’s “amazing” that her ex-husband, Matthew Lawrence, wants kids with his new girlfriend, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas.
The former “Dancing With the Stars” pro noted during Thursday’s episode of “The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever with Chris Harrison” that she was not “surprised” by the revelation because the actor “always wanted” to be a father.
“I really, truly hope he can actually have a kid with Chili,” she said, “wish[ing] him well.”
Burke, 38, recalled having her own “conversations” with Lawrence, 43, about starting a family and freezing her eggs.
“He comes from a huge family,” she explained. “But I always had said, ‘As long as I had to shove my body in a dance costume, me thinking about being pregnant probably isn’t something I can talk about at the moment.’”
The choreographer and the “Mrs. Doubtfire” star were married from 2019 to 2022, and he made his romance with Chilli, 52, Instagram-official in January.
The TLC singer’s rep confirmed their relationship at the time, saying the longtime pals’ friendship took a turn in November 2022.
Burke seemingly reacted to the news with a pointed Instagram Story post at the time.
“That was fast,” the “Dance Moms” star wrote.
Two months later, Lawrence gushed to “Entertainment Tonight” about his and Chilli’s “amazing” bond, saying it is like nothing he has ever “experienced” before.

“My life is in complete bloom right now,” the “Boy Meets World” alum said on March 3, calling children their “game plan.”
When he and Burke were together, the duo also spoke publicly about their family plans.
In 2020, Lawrence told Us Weekly that things were “on pause” amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“When this starts to clear out, I think we’ll have a better view or understanding,” he explained at the time.
Burke told Tamron Hall the following year that she was looking into freezing her eggs but felt “really nervous” about next steps.
