Couple spill nine top tips for happy 17-year marriage – like ‘having sex often’
A married couple have discussed their top tips for a healthy and happy marriage – 17 years after being told to not tie the knot.
Lisa and Tom Bilyeu, who co-founded billion dollar health brand Quest Nutrition, met almost two decades ago and instantly fell for each other.
In a post revealing their best advice for other couples, they told their Instagram fans how having sex often was their number one tip.
The next important trick was followed by “communicating obsessively” and being honest with one another, “especially when it’s hard”.
They also said forgiving mistakes fast and not always wanting the other person to win were keys to happiness.
The couple added making your marriage your highest priority is the secret to maintaining a strong bond over the years.

Lisa told her 134,000 followers on Instagram: “When you love someone so damn much all you want to do is see them happy.
"Seeing Tom smile and laugh is literally one of my most favourite things on earth.
"And so knowing that what you are about to say is going to do the exact opposite? Well my instincts are always to just keep it to myself. But in not saying it, for Tom and I, is as bad as lying.
“We plan to be married forever and so it needs to be built on 100% honesty and transparency.
"And so when I'm 90 years old and a bag of wrinkles, and I wake up with no make-up on and he looks at me and tells me I'm beautiful, he needs those moments to carry weight."

Lisa also shared the worst advice she ever received – saying “don’t marry Tom” was number one.
She said being told to have kids or risk living an unfulfilled life was one of the worst pieces of advice she ever received.
In a response to his wife’s post, Tom replied: “My marriage to Lisa is my highest priority.
"Why? Because nothing has given me more joy, ever. All the money in the world can't come close to having someone who lifts you up and pushes you to be better. My wife is my all-time favourite human."
