- Turned focus outside and transformed narrowboat into luxury accommodation

Viewers praised Dick and Angel as ‘truly amazing’ after they turned a 35-foot eight-tonne riverboat into luxury guest accommodation, with bespoke fabrics and decking, in Escape to the Chateau.
In last night’s episode of the Channel 4 show, the couple, who have spent the past five years working hard to create four elegant guest suites inside the French chateau and a glamping site outside, turned their focus to making a second site on the opposite side of the moat.
To achieve this, Angel purchased a 40-year-old boat called Dolphin that was in desperate need of some TLC – and viewers were left stunned by the impressive transformation.
‘Just knew the boat on the moat was going to be something special…just wow, well done,’ enthused one, while a second wrote: ‘Another perfect episode! I could quite happily live on the boat. Best programme on TV.’

A third congratulated: ‘Thank you for another great hours watching #EscapeToTheChateau well done on the boat, Angel and Dick..’ while a fourth praised: ‘Wow that looks fab! Bravo.’
A further added: ‘Escape to the Chateau is what Sunday evenings are made for! Forever in awe of this intrepid duo, what skill and what drive they both have.’
‘I wish I had a tenth of Angel’s talent or Dick’s craftsmanship. Thanks for the escapism.’
Each week, the programme follows the ambitious pair as they renovate a 45-bedroom Château-de-la-Motte Husson in France, which they bought in 2014 for £280,000.

But last night they took a break from the chateau and after a lot of hard work, Dick and Angel turned what was once a second-hand narrowboat, into a romantic, floating retreat.
Dolphin’s gloomy cabins became filled with love and light, while the addition of new sofas created a cosy corner.
Meanwhile, the kitchen was brought fully back to life – and the whole space was enhanced by Angel’s handmade embellishments.
‘I really wanted this to boat to be old, seaside colours – pastels and fun – and I think I got there,’ said Angel.
‘But it was hard to still have that grown up sense to it that sometimes, less is more. I needed to keep it quite eclectic and I think this boat has a little bit of everything.’
She continued: ‘Every little element has had a little bit of care and is unique even down to the scallop grout, and the fireplace, it looks lovely.’
However, while many were impressed with the couple’s handiwork, others were distracted by the lights.
Some viewers took to social media to compare Angel’s seashell handmade lights (pictured) to looking remarkably like ‘condoms’
Taking to Twitter, one person who tuned in joked: ‘Nothing like having lights in your room that looks like a load of used condoms have been stuck to it’
‘Nothing like having lights in your room that looks like a load of used condoms have been stuck to it,’ commented one, while a second penned: ‘Angel has pulled it out of the bag…but I can’t unsee condoms on those lights.’
A third agreed: ‘Is it only me who is seeing the boat light as lots of condoms on #EscapeToTheChateau ?? Quick, need to see the end result!’
But Dolphin’s transformation wasn’t just inside. What was once an unassuming grassy slope was converted into an outdoor areas where guests can relax, dine and enjoy their idyllic setting – as well as admire Dick’s wonderful wind turbine.
‘Dick’s done a fantastic job on the decking,’ praised Angel. ‘I wanted to create a feeling you’re in a big spacious area, You don’t want to feel enclosed, and this is perfect.’
