Explosions heard as huge blaze breaks out at transport company

Dramatic photos capture a huge fire rage from a transport company in a rural village.

The fire broke out in Church Gresley, Derbyshire, this evening.

People on Twitter said the fire can be seen as far as Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, around five miles away.

Many witnesses have shared shocking photos online.

One said: "We can feel the heat and we can hear the crackling.

"There’s stacks of pallets visible through the thinning trees.

"There’s small explosion sounds."

Roads have been closed as emergency services attend, Derbyshire Live says.

Derbyshire Police and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue have been contacted for comment
