A food fan has gone viral after sharing his inventive crumpet recipes, including lasagne, sausage rolls and fruit compote and McMuffin.
Steve Devereux, from Newcastle, decided to get imaginative with the sponge breakfast favourite, with his ‘crazy’ creations in a variety of unorthodox recipes.
In a video, that amassed over 1.9m views and 105,000 likes, Steve can be seen showing off multiple recipes, firstly a crumpet cheese toasty.
He then goes on to cover a crumpet with raisins, custard and sugar, before putting it in the oven.
He also creates his own take on McDonald’s sausage and egg McMuffin, as well as bacon-wrapped sausage rolls.

Finally, he takes four square crumpets and covers them in cheese, bolognese and béchamel sauce, turning it into a crumpet lasagne.
Quickly gaining over 1,000 comments, viewers rushed to share their thoughts.
The creations left TikTok users horrified, with many people calling the recipes ‘crazy’.
In defence of his demonstration of the crumpet’s versatility, Steve said: ‘I love crumpets and I always enjoy showing the versatility of lots of different food types.’
The 46-year-old technical manager told NeedToKnow.co.uk that his favourite recipe is the garlic crumpets.
He added: ‘I get [criticism] a lot and I usually just ignore it – I get just as much love, so that’s what keeps me going.’
