Styled by Lucas Armitage, Gemma paired the padded shoulders, orange dress with bronze accessories to match the chain embellishment.

Despite previously inspiring many plus-sized women, with her glamorous style and even having her own fashion line, the 2017 look was viewed by many as one of her least flattering.

Gemma who has also collaborated with Boohoo on a fashion collection, shared a photograph of herself wearing the look at the time with the caption ‘rocking my inner Lady Gaga.

The Instagram post received a stream of comments, including accusations that she chose the dress as a PR stunt.

The look was likened to both an American football kit and an Oompa Loompa’s uniform. Comedian Alan Carr to dressed in a replica for Halloween of the same year.

In conversation with talk show host Ellen Degeneres, Lady Gaga also said that the flesh design has many interpretations including not viewing herself as a piece of meat.

The controversial dress has since appeared in a number of exhibitions across the US, including the Las Vegas strip earlier this year.

Almost one-in-five, 6.2 million, British woman cite the look as the biggest fashion miss of the decade.

The 39-year-old claims she was advised by top people within the fashion industry to wear the floral dress while expecting her first child.

She paired the dress with matching heeled sandals and styled her hair into a sleek low ponytail.

Co-Founder of Love The Sales, Stuart McClure said: ‘The Twentyteens have seen enormous upheaval in the fashion industry.

Austerity at the start of the decade had people hunting designer fashion for a fairer price. The advance of 4G allowed mobile retail to flourish and people can now quickly grab bargains on the go while emulating the looks of their fashion icons.

‘It’s no surprise the queen of daytime TV Holly Willoughby and the new wave of young royals like HRH The Duchess of Cambridge and HRH The Duchess of Sussex have influenced our style choices.

The young royals are now more accessible than ever – they support British designers and champion UK high street brands.’
