Husband of ‘Tan Mom’ in critical condition after heart attack, stroke

The husband of “Tan Mom” Patricia Krentcil is in critical condition after suffering a heart attack and stroke last Friday, a source close to the family said.

Richard Krentcil, who is estranged from Patricia but still living with her, underwent emergency surgery in Tampa, Florida, and remains in the ICU, we’re told, though the family is unsure of how much damage Richard sustained.

“It is very much serious for him right now so we are all praying he will make it through this,” the source told Page Six.

Richard went to the doctor early Friday and was diagnosed with high cholesterol and diabetes and was told he was at “high risk” for a heart attack, the source said.

He was ultimately sent home with medication but started sweating and shaking upon arriving there. He went to the hospital the next morning.

“They did a mini surgery yesterday to unblock his heart and went in through his arm,” the insider said, adding he’s undergoing surgery again on Tuesday to put a stent in his heart.

Though “Tan Mom” is recovering from her second hip surgery, she told Page Six in a statement she’s going to step up for her estranged husband, as he took care of her when she nearly died.

“Even through our ups and downs, and even though we aren’t together, I will always care about Richard,” she said. “After 20 years, especially, of course I will always stick by his side, like he did with me when I was in the hospital fighting for my life.”
