The Wildlife Trusts challenge invites people to take up activities like picking up litter, eating outdoors or planting seeds for its 30 Days Wild event during June.
James, 27, said: “It doesn’t matter where you live – countryside, city and everywhere in between.
“I take huge enjoyment from being in nature by doing 10,000 steps from my house, down to the river and back, or even something as simple as listening to the green parakeets.
“We can all benefit by just an ounce of effort.”
A record 760,000 joined in last year, with around two million participating since the first challenge in 2015.
