Jim Edmonds says marriage to Meghan King Edmonds was ‘loveless and abusive’

Meghan King Edmonds and Jim Edmonds’ contentious divorce now includes allegations of abusive behavior on both sides.

Jim, 49, praised his new girlfriend — the former couple’s threesome partner, Kortnie O’Connor — for helping him feel like himself again after leaving his allegedly “loveless and abusive relationship” with the former “Real Housewives of Orange County” star last year.

“If it wasn’t for this girl, I don’t think I would be here right now,” the former MLB star captioned a slideshow of photos with O’Connor on Instagramon  Tuesday.

“She showed up in my life just at the right time. Amazing that her taking a chance on a plus one weekend to Mexico pulled me out of my hole and changed my life forever. I was in such a dark place; one that I didn’t think could happen to me. I was going through hell ending a loveless and abusive relationship. The lies and accusations that followed the breakup only put me deeper into a funk. Along came this beautiful woman by chance, who lit up my world and brought me back to life. I’m very grateful for my amazing friends, children and this amazing woman for making me a better person and father. #reallife.”

Jim declined to give specific examples of the abuse he claimed to have endured, but his rep, Steve Honig, told us on Wednesday that “Jim’s words speak for themselves; he is very grateful to have Kortnie in his life.”

While Meghan, 35, could not be reached for comment regarding Jim’s post on Wednesday, she has made allegations about his abusive behavior in the past, telling Us Weekly in November 2019 that she has “endured prolific controlling by Jim and it isn’t slowing down. I’m sick of the abuse and I won’t engage anymore — and I don’t have to.”

“He is not my mouthpiece and I believe the facade he presented is false and manipulative to the public while using and taking advantage of me,” she said.

Meghan and Jim split in October 2019 following Jim’s sexting scandal and an alleged affair with their children’s nanny. Jim admitted to the texting ordeal but denied having an affair with the nanny.

In January, Page Six reported that Meghan and Jim had engaged in a threesome with O’Connor. Meghan told us at the time that Jim was trying to “sex shame” her after talking to the media about it, while Jim said that Meghan brought up the encounter on her podcast for attention.

Jim and Meghan’s tumultuous divorce has also included fights over money and child support going public.

But Meghan and Jim have since taken a more private approach to their divorce proceedings recently, with both sides telling us that they want their negotiations over Meghan’s prenup payout to be private.
