Joanna Jedrzejczyk finally looks recovered in a video posted 16 days after being disfigured in a bloody UFC battle with Weili Zhang.
Jedrzejczyk and the strawweight champion Zhang exchanged a combined 768 strikes in a 25-minute long UFC fight for the ages in Las Vegas on March 7, with the Polish challenger narrowly losing on the night.
Neither fighter left the Octagon unscathed — Zhang suffered bruising and swelling, and was sent to hospital, while Jedrzejczyk had a hematoma either side of her forehead, a bent nose, and was also sent to hospital.
It is only now that Jedrzejczyk looks back to normal.
In an Instagram Live video chat with ESPN, the swelling on Jedrzejczyk's face appears to have gone completely.
Jedrzejczyk was speaking to one of ESPN's primary MMA reporters Ariel Helwani and the Instagram Live chat was gatecrashed by Zhang.
The reigning strawweight champion messaged Jedrzejczyk, and said: "I have nothing but respect for you Joanna."
Jedrzejczyk later said: "Nothing but respect to Weili Zhang. Take care."
Jedrzejczyk said things are okay in Poland, even though she is only allowed to leave her home to shop for food or medicine, as the country, like others, has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
She said she still has a bruise on her chest and neck, but her face otherwise is good. "The next day … I couldn't see out of my right eye for two days. UFC took good care of me. I went to the hospital. Everything was good."
Jedrzejczyk later added that she was afraid the hematoma on her forehead would explode and she would be walking around like a female version of "Scarface."
Jedrzejczyk also posted photographs on Instagram showing she has fully recovered from the recent slobberknocker.
She has certainly come a long way from what she looked like on the night.
But if you want to watch much of the fight again, you can, as BT Sport uploaded the entire thing to YouTube.
