Lemon-Aid: New email newsletter helps parents entertain their kids during self-isolation
With schools and nurseries shut for the longest summer holidays in history and home working the new norm parents and carers are feeling bewildered right now. So on Monday Lemon-Aid, a new daily newsletter with tips for everyone feeling scared, stressed and slightly confused about what the new ‘normal’ means, is launched. As we all strive to be highly-enthusiastic homeschool teachers by day while successfully cramming in a 40-hour working week by night, we hope these daily tips and treats will start your day off the right way – with a smile and a glimmer of hope that you will get through it. You can sign up for the newsletter here.
Our plan is to customise the newsletter depending on the age of your children – from toddlers prone to temper tantrums, to teenagers struggling to adapt to the abrupt closure of schools and separation from their friends, we’ve got it covered. We’re with you.
Whether it’s creating a time-capsule to record everyday life during the pandemic or building an outdoor den for restless little-ones we’ll try to make life just that little bit easier.
And we’ll be encouraging our subscribers to build a supportive community sharing their own tips, experiences and words of wisdom for coping in these unprecedented and uncertain times.
Reach Regionals What’s On Editor Lynda Moyo said: “We’ve built up a very loyal and engaged family community through the likes of Manchester Family, Brummie Mummies and Mirror Mums.
“It’s important we now support them as best we can through what will be a very testing few months.
“There’s a saying that goes ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ and through this newsletter I hope we can help uplift and unite our community.”
