Love Island viewers mortified by Ikenna Ekwonnas Crocs as he made villa debut

Crocs were rumoured to be making a comeback over the recent months, and it turns out it's true!

At the Love Island launch, Ikenna Ekwonna sported Crocs as he made his way over to the girl he'd been coupled up with.

The 23 year old's shoes caught the attention of ITV viewers who were surprised to see someone making their Love Island debut in Crocs.

"HES WEARING CROCS STOP," wrote one person, while another said: "crocs????? on love island????? BIN #LoveIsland."

A third penned: "AHHAHAHH love island knew what they were doing when they zoomed on his crocs #LoveIsland"

And a fourth added: "not all the girls judging ikenna’s crocs #LoveIsland."

On this year's series the public have been in charge of the initial coupling up, and partnered Ikenna with 23 year old Indiyah Polack.

And many on social media have said Indiyah was "not impressed" with Ikenna's Crocs.

"Indiyah’s face really said get this man in crocs away from me," wrote one, while another penned: "INDIYAH DID NOT LIKE THEM CROCS."

A third added: "indiyah is sickened by his crocs."

Despite public opinion, Indiyah admitted that she does actually like Crocs despite the other girls saying they're not a fan.

Ikenna originally hails from Nottingham and explains that his choice to go on the dating show in season eight was all about timing.

“I’ve only been in one past relationship but now I think I’m at the age where I could find someone.”

Ikenna is hoping to bring a lot to the villa including his outgoing personality: “Hopefully, I’m going to bring spontaneity and excitement.

“I’m not really shy to speak to people and I don’t really care too much about what people think.”

The fitness fanatic graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Biomedical Sciences earlier this year.

His last relationship was certainly a memorable one as he pushed the boat out despite being so young.

“I took my ex on holiday for her birthday. We went to Barcelona for four nights and I was pretty young then, maybe like 19-20. It was for her birthday so she didn’t know about it. It was quite a lot of money to spend for that age.”

The salesman is no stranger to showing off for the camera and often posts pictures to his Instagram grid of his life behind the scenes.

These include trips abroad with a recent stint to Milan and as a fitness fanatic, Ikenna even has a dedicated Instagram account for his work out tips.
