Mark Zuckerberg’s sunscreen while surfing in Hawaii spawns wave of memes
The Zuck’s been zinc-ed.
Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg was spotted zipping around Hawaii’s blue waters on a $12,000 Efoil remote-controlled surfboard Sunday wearing a thick face mask of white sunscreen. The billionaire donned a blue hoodie to ride the waves with surfing pro Kai Lenny, and a cadre of security guards, in tow.
But rather than gawk at the tech founder’s cool toys, the internet is ruthlessly trolling the 36-year for his impasto sun protectant application. “What’s the point of being rich if this is what you look like when you surf?” commented Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy, along with a close-up of the Zuck’s mug.
“Mark Zuckerberg taking sunscreen application tips from Mrs. Doubtfire,” wrote one Twitter user, referencing the scene in the 1993 comedy where “Mrs. Doubtfire,” played by Robin Williams, face plants into a white-iced cake.
Memesters also jeered Zuckerberg for cosplaying “a 17th century French judge,” Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Phantom of the Opera,” and the character of “Death” from the Ingmar Bergman film classic “The Seventh Seal,” prompted by Keith Edwards’ request that they “caption this.”
Other jokesters pointed the likeliness to other pale pop culture icons: the Joker from Batman, the ghost from anime fan-favorite “Spirited Away” and, fittingly for Zuckerberg’s business of trafficking in other peoples’ business, the character “Data” from Star Trek.
@BornMiserable dubbed him simply “The Mime Surfer” along with a photoshopped image of the Palo-Alto based boss in a striped shirt. But not all Twitter users’ had something bad to say about the dorky image, which showed off the Harvard drop-out’s toned bod.
“Why is Zuckerberg built like a Pixar mom?” wondered one user online.
Another simply wrote, “didn’t expect to come on twitter today and find out Mark Zuckerberg has a better ass than me.”
