Maya Jamas new honey blonde highlights stole the Love Island final
TheLove Islandwinners haveofficially been announced, and althoughJess Hardingand Sammy Root came out on top, the real star of the show was presenter Maya Jama.
Maya has been causing quite the commotion since she took over the presenting job at the start of 2023 thanks to her incredible outfits, but an honourable mention has to go to the presenter’s beauty looks, which also have yet to miss.
For last night’s final (July 31), Maya debuted a brand new hairstyle, which included honey blonde highlights painted throughout her usually dark hair.
Whilst Maya’s typically known for her sleek, dark tresses, it seems the former DJ fancied something of a shake up for her final show look, as she embraced her natural tight curls and gave her hair a sunkissed makeover.
Her new warm blonde highlights give her hair an all-over lightened appearance, with plenty of rich caramel and chocolate tones throughout that suit Maya’s complexion perfectly and give the natural sunkissed appearance of someone who spends every day in the sun – which, technically, she has after spending the last two months flying back and forth to the Love Island villa.
The presenter may have arrived at the final looking absolutely flawless, with her sultry makeup and incredible £1350 rhinestone-covered co ord fromAnnie’s Ibiza, but she did reveal her slightly less glamorous, but infinitely more relatable, beauty regime that goes into looking so good.
In anInstagram postlast Thursday (July 27), Maya first revealed her newly lightened hair, showing off its new bronde (a mixture of brunette and blonde) colour in a series of glamorous snaps captioned: “Changed my hair ft. Nair”.
Amongst the glitz and glamour was a shot of Maya getting ready, with the facial hair removal cream smeared across her top lip.
Although many of us are no strangers to a quick hair removal moment – if that’s your thing, of course – we’re obsessed with the fact Maya keeps it so real when it comes to what it takes to pull off her head-turning looks.
Her fans clearly agreed, with one writing: “We love you for the realness,” whilst Nair themselves wrote: "It’s giving hair removal queen”.
A third joked: “Lifetime of Nair pending” with a crying laughing emoji.
Maya’s hair remover of choice is a classic that most of us are probably familiar with, as the presenter opted for Nair’s Upper Lip Kit, £3.69 here (was £5.55), to help banish unruly upper lip hairs and keep her face smooth and fluff free.
Amongst her other go-to beauty items, Maya has been known to use the Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural, £21.60 here (was £27), and The Huda Beauty N.Y.M.P.H. Body Drip Shimmering Dry Oil, £25.20 here (was £40), to achieve her golden glow and ultra sleek, glossy hair.
With Love Island no longer on our screens every night, we’re going to have to keep an extra close eye on Maya’s Instagram to get our fashion and beauty fix, but we’re pretty sure she won’t be letting us down any time soon!
