Melania Trump was working as a model when she first met Donald at a party.
The pair started dating soon after and announced their engagement in 2004.
The following year, they tied the knot at a grand ceremony with a reception that took place at Donald’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
When they wed, Melania became the step-mother of Donald Trump Jr, 42, Ivanka Trump, 38, Eric Trump, 36, and Tiffany Trump, 26.
Melania and Donald are also parents to Barron Trump, who was born on March 20, 2006.
The mother-of-one has often travelled with Donald while he attends events in his political role.
Although Barron stays mostly out of the limelight, he is sometimes spotted joining his parents on these trips.
With her son, the First Lady might not follow any conventional parenting rules, Rachel Fitz-Desorgher, baby expert at The Baby Show and author of Your Baby Skin to Skin, said.
Instead, Melania is likely to do what feels right for her when parenting.
Rachel told Express.co.uk: “We can expect that, like most parents, Melania has her own preferred parenting style.
“She will adapt this depending on her mood, how much sleep she had the night before and whether she’s at home or out and about.”
While Melania has probably used a parenting style that is individual to her, it is likely to have changed recently, the expert suggested.

“Teenagers crave independence but are not yet quite ready for total freedom – the ability to make good life decisions is still a few years away,” Rachel continued.
“Tell a teenager to be home by 10 o’clock and you can expect to be met with angry defiance.”
Barron is rarely seen with his parents and it has been reported he will often stay home while Melania travels.
If this is true, she could be giving him more freedom as he grows older.
However, Donald’s youngest child may be kept out of the limelight to not draw attention to the couple’s parenting style.
Rachel added: “As if it isn’t bad enough having every outfit and facial expression analysed by the world’s press, she [Melania] also is trying to navigate parenting her son, Barron, in the full, critical glare of the media.”
As well as parenting Barron, it is thought Melania has offered support to Ivanka Trump over the years.
