Mum expecting order of baby clothes receives parcel from kind stranger instead
A mum whose order of baby clothes never arrived says her faith in humanity has been 'completely restored' after a package from a complete stranger dropped through her door instead.
Caoimhe Mcconway was expecting a delivery of baby-grows for her young daughter Féah after placing an order online, but the package never made it to her home in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.
That's because, unknown to her and the delivery company, it had fallen off the back of a truck hundreds of miles away and the new clothes had been ruined after being 'strewn everywhere' by the busy traffic.
The wrecked parcel had been spotted by another mum on her walk to school, who decided to step in with an incredible gesture.
A few days later, Caoimhe received a delivery with a note which read: "I am writing to let you know that a parcel you were expecting with baby clothes in will not be arriving as unfortunately the parcel must have have fallen off the truck as we noticed it whilst walking to school.
"I took a photo of your address and wanted to inform you and send a few babygros for you, which I hope fit your little one.
"I would have collected them off the road but they were strewn everywhere and all dirty and oily. The road is a busy one too!
"Congratulations on your new arrival – always such a precious time.
"Sincerely, Emily (from Maidstone, Kent in the UK)."
Posting the card on Facebook, Caoimhe wrote: "How amazing is she, a complete stranger. If anyone knows an Emily from Maidstone tell her she's completely restored my faith in humanity."
Incredibly, in just a few hours the post made it's way from Northern Ireland to Kent and a message landed in Caoimhe's inbox from Emily's sister, as Emily herself doesn't use Facebook.
To complete the heartwarming tale, the pair have now become friends, as reported by the Metro.
Caoimhe said: "We exchanged numbers and have been in regular contact through WhatsApp.
"She seems to have her hands full enough and still managed to do this lovely gesture.
"I think it’s lovely that two complete strangers have became friends through this."
It's restored our faith in humanity, too.
