Mum's homemade laundry spray could put an end to ironing forever
Ironing is not a chore that most of us relish, and this spray might just put paid to it forever.
The crease-releasing spray was made my Australian home blogger Mama Mila, and uses just a few ingredients you can probably find in your cupboards.
On a post on Instagram, Mila showed a shirt covered in creases.
Next, she mixed two cups of water, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and one tablespoon of hair conditioner.
After hanging the shirt up, giving it a spray, then leaving for five minutes, the wrinkles in the garment have disappeared completely.
The mixture works because the conditioner (much as it does our hair) relaxes the fibres and decreases the clothes.
The vinegar then softens these fibres even further. Many people prefer to use vinegar as a fabric softener in their machines, so this is like a spray-on version of that.
In the caption, Mila wrote: ‘Guys, I’m so excited to share this one, because I’ve been working on a formula for a while.
‘This spray is so great for travel or for those hectic mornings when you’re rushing out of the house!
‘Simply spray a light mist, smooth and leave for 5 mins (while you shower and get ready) and voila – no more creases!
‘I’ve tried it on both light and dark cotton-blend clothes, and it’s worked so well for us. My husband is now a convert.’
Over 2,000 people have liked her post, with some saying the homemade concoction could replace the need for specially-designed anti-crease sprays.
If you opt for a conditioner you know smells nice, you’re also getting a fresh smell on your clothes as well as improving their look.
Try not to worry about the vinegar, it has a strong scent initially but dies down completely when it’s dry.
