My boyfriend gives too much attention to his needy mum | The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: I AM jealous of my boyfriend’s needy mum – he gives her all his attention.

I’m 24 and he’s 26. His mum is 48.

She brought him up single-handedly, so I understand that they are really close, but we’ve been dating for more than a year and now I’m starting to think I’m wasting my time with him.

For example, he chose to go on holiday with her instead of me.

He buys her flowers, but I just get the odd pint in the pub.

And when we were supposed to go out for dinner for my birthday, he let me down at the last minute because she needed him to fix her loo.

He tells me that he loves me, and when we’re together, it’s good, but I’m really sick of coming second.

What can I do?

He needs to know how you feel and that he’s on the verge of losing you.
