‘My friends judge me for posting nudes online but I love the attention’
A Daily Star reader wrote into agony aunt Jane O'Gorman after being judged by their friends for posting nudes.
While they enjoy being in the spotlight, they don't like some of the negative reactions they've been receiving online.
They wrote: "I crave attention. I’m desperate to be noticed.
"I keep posting revealing semi-naked pictures of myself on social media. I love my body and am proud of my shape, but I’ve had a number of negative comments of late.
"Why shouldn’t I flaunt myself when I’m fit and healthy?
"The problem is that I grew up in the spotlight. My parents ran a dancing school, and I was in front of an audience from an early age."
The reader continued: "Being praised and applauded is like meat and drink to me.
"A couple of friends have blocked and condemned me for being a show off but how dare they judge?"
Thankfully, Jane was on hand to offer her words of wisdom – and she wasn't shy about giving the Daily Star fan some words of warning.
JANE SAYS: The fact is that you can do pretty much what you like but opening up on social media always carries a risk.
There will inevitably be people who like what we say and do – and others who really don’t.
Putting yourself out there may be natural to you, but your friends are allowed to comment if they’re taken by surprise.
I understand that you get off on being the star of your own show, but isn’t there some merit in holding something of yourself back?
