The six-way wedding was the result of contest held by the park to kick off its annual HalloWeekends events, which take place through September and October.
‘Six couples, completely decked out in their finest afterlife couture, will tie the proverbial knot as friends, family and creatures of the night witness the power of their undying love,’ officials said ahead of the event, according to local NBC affiliate WKYC3.
The couples who won could bring along eight friends and family members, and each was transformed by the park’s makeup artists to look as zombified as possible.
After the ceremony — which featured pumpkins, black and orange decor, and a truly terrifying officiant — revelers enjoyed a reception at something called ‘Night of the Living Fed.’
One couple was Chris Liebau and Sam Meyer from Lakewood, Ohio, who met at the park and knew this would be ‘the perfect wedding for us.
‘We love Halloween and we’re here all the time,’ Sam said.
‘We knew we were getting married soon, and we figured it would be right up our alley. We met when I was in costume, actually, so we thought it was pretty appropriate and it would be fun,’ she added to 24 News.
Another couple, Ariel and Logan Booth, also said they met at a Cedar Point HalloWeekends event three years ago.
Forever: A masked officiant married them for ‘eternity,’ since they’re already ‘undead’

Branching out: The inclusion of a lesbian couple in the event is a change from six years ago, when the park made headlines for refusing to include a gay couple
‘This May, he actually proposed to me at the same place we met here at Cedar Point, in front of Iron Dragon. Then, we saw this, and thought it kind of made sense. It comes full circle with it all,’ Ariel said.
The other newlyweds include Ashia Salyers and Jake Michel, Deb Zoeller andShawn Gibson, Elyssa Brady and Dawn Oehlers, and Rebecca Steiner and Tom Pivovar.
The inclusion of a lesbian couple in the event is a change from six years ago, when the park made headlines for refusing to include a gay couple.
According to the Advocate, in 2013 the park advertised the contest with a line that read: ‘Due to marriage laws in Ohio, weddings are limited to male-female couples only.’
When a growing protest put pressure on the park, they decided to cancel the wedding event altogether rather than make it inclusive of LGBTQ couples.
