Police have ‘no indication’ of where missing firefighter Anthony Knott went
Police searching for a missing firefighter with a distinctive walk said they have no indication where he went.
Anthony Knott, 33, vanished during a night out with colleagues at a pub in Lewes, East Sussex, on 20 December.
He has not been seen since leaving The Lamb pub for unknown reasons at 7.16pm.
Detective Inspector Jon Gillings told BBC Breakfast that "at present" police have no indication where he went on the night he went missing.
When asked whether there is "any indication at all of where he went", Det Insp Gillings said there was not.
Sussex Police hope CCTV footage showing the London firefighter’s walk with a slight bounce in his step will jog someone’s memory.
The father-of-four, from Kent, was captured on CCTV approximately half an hour after leaving the pub walking nearby.
Policing are focusing their search on the area of Pells but after CCTV showed Mr Knott heading in a different direction, they are now broadening their search.
He was spotted on CCTV shortly after his mobile phone was last active at 7.20pm on Friday and it has been off since 1am on Saturday, while his bank card hasn’t been used.
Floodwaters in the area have made the hunt challenging, with police using boats, dogs, drones and helicopters to assist in the search.
Police previously said there was nothing to suggest his disappearance was the result of a criminal act and no evidence he had left town.
Mr Knott has been described as 6ft and of medium build, with medium-brown short gelled hair.
He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved top, a dark denim suit-style jacket, dark denim jeans and black shoes.
Get Insp Gillings said it must be a “horrendous” experience for the family and specialist police officers are providing them with support.
His fiance, Lucy Otto, described Mr Knott disappearance as "a complete mystery".
"I don't understand how someone can just walk out a pub and disappear," she told Sky News in a tearful Christmas Eve interview.
Ms Otto stressed her fiancé had "every intention of coming home" after his night out.
"I've been asked if there was any indication of depression or worries or troubles but I've racked my brains; there is nothing he said to me that would make me think he was in that frame of mind.”
