Kate, Duchess of Cambridge’s rise to royal stardom has been stratospheric, and she is consistently rated as one of the Royal Family’s most popular members in opinion polls. But it seems Kate has also won approval within the Royal Family as according to a body language expert, she is beloved by her father-in-law Prince Charles.
In recent weeks, Kate has been pictured playing rugby at Twickenham, as well as visiting some of her many patronages.
But Kate has also appeared at some joint engagements with other royals since 2022 dawned, stepping out with her husband Prince William, but also with Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall on one occasion this month.
The royal trio visited The Prince’s Foundation training site for arts and culture at Trinity Buoy Wharf in London, and it is understood Charles personally invited Kate due to her creative interests.
As an expert pointed out, it was obvious Charles “clearly adores” his daughter-in-law based on analysis of their outing.
Body language expert Judi James told Express.co.uk: “As well as her solo spots, we’ve also been reminded how well [Kate] works as part of a double act with William and also as part of a trio with Charles and Camilla.
“Despite being the family’s rising (or risen) star, Kate is always good at not eclipsing either Charles or William which, keeping in mind the Windsor male’s trait of preferring to be central to the spotlight, has managed to keep Kate both popular with the public and with her father-in-law, who clearly adores her.”
Although it seems that Kate gets on remarkably well with her in-laws, she also showed her confidence as a royal individual during the joint appearance.
Ms James added: “Kate drove her own path at the Trinity Buoy Wharf. Camilla kept very close to her husband, who led the group with some good-natured-looking jokes and pointing, but Kate walked and posed away from the couple as though to signify a very separate branch of the Firm.
“When she did join up, she chatted animatedly to Charles, using some confident illustrative gesticulation.
“He signalled a like-minded appreciation of the art they were viewing and their chat, as always, looked happy and relatively intense, suggesting strong bonds.”
Since marrying Prince William in 2011, Kate has worked hard to carve out her own portfolio as a member of the Royal Family.
But since the start of the pandemic especially, Kate’s public role appears to have become even more prominent as William and Kate are now widely seen as the future of the Firm.

According to Ms James, Kate exhibited “confidence” in her royal role during her London visit with Charles and Camilla.
She explained: “The way that Kate did her own thing at this outing showed her current levels of both confidence and competence.
“While Charles and Camilla walked ahead, it was Kate getting into some detailed and animated conversations with the people at the venue and stopping to bend right down to the floor to chat to one small child.
“She did all this without pausing or lurking behind or looking for cues from her in-laws.”
