Prince William once questioned Kates cooking skills with cheeky joke
Kate, Princess of Wales and Prince William may be senior royals but they like to have a laugh as much as the rest of us.
On one occasion the future King made a cheeky but funny joke about his wife’s cooking, suggesting that either it isn’t very good – or it isn’t very filling.
In 2016, Kate and William attended a Taste of Norfolk event in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice.
On the menu was a tasty array of dishes, made using locally sourced produce by some world-renowned star chefs.
According to People, among the delicious items on the menu were squid ink cracker with Morston smoked salmon made by chef Galton Blackiston (of Morston Hall on the Norfolk coast), scallop ceviche by chef Sat Bains (Restaurant Sat Bains in Nottingham), wild sea bass by Claude Bosi (Hibiscus in London), loin of Houghton venison with summer beetroot purée by Tom Kerridge (The Hand and Flowers in Harlow) and Norfolk raspberries, strawberries, cider and blueberry coulis by Nobu’s Mark Edwards.
Delighted by the food, Kate reportedly told a group of chefs that “William has to put up with my cooking most of the time”.
William jokingly responded to this: “‘It’s the reason I’m so skinny.”
His joke may have implied that Kate’s cooking is not quite up to par with the culinary experience they enjoyed that day – or that her portions are a little small.

However, we know that William was just kidding, as Kate is known for her love of cooking and ability to whip up lovely meals.
In conversation with Mary Berry back in 2019, the Princess revealed that she and the kids like to cook together.
Despite being royal, the family love to indulge in comfort foods we all know and love, telling the culinary legend that she and the kids recently tried out her pizza dough recipe.

She also told Mary that the family grow their own vegetables, including carrots and beans – and revealed Prince Louis’ surprising favourite veg.
Kate loves cooking with her three little ones, encouraging them to “be creative and as independent as possible with it”.
She enjoys making cheesy pasta with them, according to People, and the delish dish is a team effort – “one stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in”.
Kate and William love to joke around with one another. Famously the Princess once joked about her university crush – and it wasn’t her future husband.
