Princess Charlotte and Queen: The subtle way new photos pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II
Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 38, and Prince William, 37, shared five new photos of their daughter Princess Charlotte, five, to mark her birthday on May 2. The adorable snaps capture Charlotte helping deliver food packages to the doorsteps of vulnerable pensioners near the family’s Norfolk home Anmer Hall.
The photos were taken by the Duchess of Cambridge last month as the family stepped out of their stately home to do their bit in the community amid lockdown.
Royal fans swooned over Princess Charlotte’s sweet outfit in the pictures.
As something of a fashion icon herself, mum Kate had dressed Charlotte in a sweet black and white houndstooth dress, grey wooden tights and simple black leather shoes.
Houndstooth is a classic print often favoured by royals including the Duchess of Cambridge, Zara Tindall and Queen Elizabeth II.

By dressing Charlotte in the iconic print, Kate gave a subtle nod to Queen Elizabeth II.
Charlotte’s dress was from Zara and has since sold out online.
The gown included trendy ruffle detailing which updated the classic print.
Queen Elizabeth II has worn houndstooth on many occasions in the past including to church in Sandringham last January.
Some of the Queen’s most iconic houndstooth outfits include a striking monochrome dress coat she wore during a visit to Turkey in 1971.
Charlotte’s late grandmother Princess Diana was also a fan of the classic print and wore it on several occasions.
One of Diana’s most iconic houndstooth outfits includes a Christian Dior black and white skirt suit she wore during a trip to Birmingham in 1995.
Charlotte’s mum Kate wore a houndstooth Zara dress earlier this year when she and Prince William visited Bradford.
