Royal Fans Believe Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle Will Get Pregnant at the Same Time — Here's Why
It sounds like the plot of a cheesy comedy, yet royal fans are literally placing bets on the slim possibility of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle getting pregnant at the same time.
Alex Apati from the U.K. betting firm Ladbrokes told Expressthat bettors are anticipating double pregnancyannouncements soon. “We’re anticipating a huge year for the royals in 2020 withnot one but two new additions seemingly on their way,” he said.
What exactly makes everyone think that these two Duchesseswon’t just announce new babies, but will choose to have their next childrenaround the same time? There are a couple of logical reasons for thatassumption.
Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle aren’t that close
The most obvious reason that the Duchess of Sussex couldannounce a pregnancy shortly before or after the Duchess of Cambridge issimple: these two women aren’ttoo close.
This theory assumes that since they don’t appear to talk muchoutside of what’s strictly necessary, they could both get pregnant simultaneouslyquite by accident. Since Kate Middleton probably won’t be texting Meghan Markleabout how she and William have been tracking cycles and trying for a fourthlittle one, there’s a good chance that the two women could separately getpregnant around the same month without meaning to.
Their ages play a factor
Meghan Markle just turned 38 and Kate Middleton is 37. While they’re certainly not too old to have children, they are considered Advanced Maternal Age (AMA) at this point. If Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are planning to expand their respective families, the time to do it is soon.
That’s precisely why bettors are assuming the announcementswill happen in 2020 — both women will have had enough time to recover fromtheir latest pregnancies but won’t be much older than they are now.
Both couples are likely to have one more child
Prince Harry recently admitted that he and Meghan only want to have “two children, maximum,” during a visit with Jane Goodall. This was a little rude to say in public since his brother Prince William already has three kids. But are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge planning to grow their family by one more?
Royal fans say yes, especially since Queen Elizabeth had four kids in her family. As future king and grandson of the beloved queen, it would make perfect sense for Prince William to emulate the example she set.
Royal babies are not a competition
Rumor has it that Meghan Markle has gotten annoyed with Kate Middleton in the past for supposedly upstaging her during major life events, like her wedding and son Archie’s baptism. If the two women did announce pregnancies together, there’s a good chance neither one would be thrilled to share the spotlight with the other.
Then again, a double pregnancy would be explosively excitingfor royal fans who want nothing more than to see more royal babies added to thefamily. Can we petition for this to happen already? The photos would be darling!
