Sainsbury's is having a massive sale of baby items – here are the best deals
THERE'S no doubt that parenting can hit your wallet hard but now Sainsbury's is offering a helping hand with discounts across their baby range.
The supermarket has slashed prices on some big brands including Huggies, Pampers, Sudocrem and Aveeno.
One of the best deals is on Pampers nappies, where a premium active fit, size 4, nappy pants is now £4 down from £7.
You can also get the same discount on a pack of 28 of the same nappies in a size and on an essential pack for newborns.
Sainsbury's own brand nappies – Little Ones Dry Fit Size 3 Midi 56 Nappies – are now £3 down from £3.75.
But if it's quantity you're after, Morrisons currently has a 3 for £12 deal on Pampers. Normally one pack of 72 costs £8 so you'll save £12 on three packs – and 216 nappies.
Aveeno Baby wash 500ml – Was £6, now £3
Baby Dove rich Moisture Shampoo 200ml – Was £1.75, now £1
A 300ml tube of Sudocrem Care & Protect for babies is also £3 down from £4 – and it's the cheapest one we could find.
But if you're looking to stock up on Sudocreme, you might be better off buying a 100ml tube for £9.99, where it's £2 cheaper than buying four 300ml ones.
Aveeno Baby Daily Care Baby Gentle Wash 500ml is half price in the sale and costs £3 – but you can get it 2p cheaper at Superdrug and on Amazon.
You can also get a Munchkin Miracle 360 Sippy Cup – where the clever design makes it "spill proof" according to the retailer – for £4 down from £5.
Johnson's Baby Extra Sensitive Wipes 12 Pack – Was £9, now, £6.50
Munchkin Miracle 360 Sippy Cup – Was £5, now £4
Parents can also pick up deals on some baby foods including 20p off a pack of Organix Apple Rice Cakes which now cost £2 in the sale.
But don't fall for all of the offer stickers, because the rice cakes are actually the same price at Morrisons and at Waitrose and Ocado they are on offer for any three for £3, making them each £1 in the deal.
Pampers Premium Active Fit Size 4 32 Nappy Pants – Was £7, now £4
Sudocrem Care & Protect 30g – Was £4, now £3
The sale is available in stores and online but it only lasts until February 13.
Sainsbury's isn't the only place where cash-strapped parents can go to grab a bargain.
Having a baby is expensive – here’s how to cut the cost
A new baby is expensive – they need so much stuff – but there are lot of ways to cut the costs:
- Buy unisex clothes: By buying unisex clothes for your baby, you're allowing yourself to re-use them for any future siblings.
- Cook in bulk and freeze: Make up several portions of baby food at a time and freeze it in individual portions – it will avoid you going to the supermarket more times than you'd like.
- Find the freebies: Loads of local health centres give out freebies to new mums and babies. From nappies to wipes, there's a lot out there to be had for nothing, so do your research.
- Join an online group: Parenting groups like Mumsnet or virtual groups on Facebook are not only a great way to meet other parents, but they're also a great place to get your hands on free or cheap essentials.
B&M has called in extra products from some big names for their Baby Event and offering deals on big names like Pampers, Heinz and Johnsons.
