As we sit here, we couldn't help wonder… Is it best to leave a series firmly in the past? Or can a reboot be just as successful?
Thanks to the brand new Sex and the City spin-off, Just Like That, we'll find out soon enough.
The gang, minus Kim Cattrall's Samantha Jones have reunited to film the new series and we can’t wait for it’s much anticipated return.
SATC bowed out back in February 2004 and since then there has been a Manhattan-shaped hold in our lives.
Despite the release date not being confirmed, we’ve been given sneak peeks at what the stylish lead trio – Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon's on-screen alter-ego Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York, played by Kristin Davis – will be sporting this time around.
But with it being nearly 20 years (yes, really) since the last episode aired and 11 years since the second SATC movie (which we'd rather not discuss), how much have the beloved characters' styles changed over time?
Take a trip down memory lane to look back at their very first appearances, the movies and now…
The very first episode of the series aired way back in 1998 and one lady who always looked fabulous on screen is of course the main star, SJP's Carrie Bradshaw.
The actress is just as fashionable as the character too, as not only has the 56-year-old gone on to act in many other movies, but she has even opened up her own shoe boutique.
In the later series of the show, we saw more and more fashion labels pop up such as Dior and Monolo Blahnik, and we’re certain that when the spinoff airs, we’re going to be inundated with yet more outfit envy.
Where would Carrie be without her trusty sidekick friends Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha?
While we're not sure the show will be the same without Samantha (who is reportedly missing from the cast due to a rumoured confrontation with Parker) we cannot wait to welcome back Charlotte, who was known for her classic preppy style, and Miranda, who admittedly had some questionable taste that definitely improved as the show went on.
For the new series, Cynthia has had the biggest transformation as she has pushed aside her iconic ginger hair and embraced a silver blonde look, and honestly, we’re living for it.
Whereas Kristin hasn’t changed one bit.
Keeping her bouncy brunette hairstyle, it seems that the 56-year-old has made sure to keep Charlotte’s elegant and sophisticated style which we all loved her for.
Whilst there might not seem to be much of a transformation, besides Cynthia’s hair, we cannot wait to be inundated with the stylish looks. And, of course, to get all the gossip from the characters and see what they have been up to since we last checked in.
