The average person spends 78K hours of their lives watching TV: study
Is this enough time to watch all the new shows on Netflix?
The average person will spend more than 78,000 hours in front of the television over their lifetime, a new study says.
Researchers determined that viewers watch an average 3,639 movies and 31,507 episodes of television, amounting to staggering 78,705 hours according to findings released by OnePoll on Monday.
As a result, the average adult will spend around 2,943 hours of their life deciding what to watch, the study said.
The study, which was commissioned by LG electronics, surveyed 2,000 British adults about their viewing habits.
Of the respondents, three out of five reported that they would “be lost” without their television sets, researchers said.
Around 15% of people said they’re frustrated by how many options are available for their home entertainment — with now cable, smart television apps and streaming services all competing for viewers’ attention.
